Non-geostationary satellite delay / Doppler simulator

  • Used to evaluate satellite communication equipment in the laboratory prior to using actual non-geostationary satellites
  • Hosted on EMC Satcom Technologies’ Noise Reduction System (NRS) L-band hardware
  • Reads network parameters (Two-line element–TLE data, Satellite schedule and Channels information) contained in System Data Broadcast (SDB) files
  • Estimates satellite co-ordinates, expected path delay and Doppler in the link
  • Monitor and Control (M&C) application provided to configure and monitor the simulation parameters
  • Allows one-shot and periodic simulation of rain fades (of configurable periods and fade-rates)
